Jackie Johnson
Greetings!
The 2024 year has been a very busy and productive year for the Magnolia Forest Homeowners Association (MFHOA) Board. First, I would like to thank all of the 2024 Board members for their time, personal resources, and sacrifices each of them has made to serve this community during this year. In addition to all the board meetings, special call meetings, conference calls, and special projects to continue to make this community one of or the most prestigious communities in Gadsden County.
Equally as important, I would like to thank all of our property/home owners for their support and assistance to the Board as we together work toward the goal of protecting the welfare of everyone in this community.
The Board and Committees continue to work diligently this year to improve the look and stabilize the infrastructure of this community. We were met with many obstacles, some we are still fighting, to ensure we maintain the integrity and sustain the neighborhood for years to come. We want to continue the improvements and accomplishments identified in prior years. We also conducted another in-depth review of our governing documents to ensure that the Board complies with both Chapter 720 Florida Statutes and our Covenant and By-Laws in its operation and business activities.
Following is a summary of our accomplishments:
• Amended the MFHOA Covenant and By-Laws
• Initiated the work to improve the appearance of the front entrance marquee and also engineering a new marquee on the corner of Peachtree and Selman.
• Identified and resolved some of the issues with our holding ponds.
• Initiated improvements to our lighting and road pavement in our neighborhood.
In closing, I would like to acknowledge and remember a neighbor, board member for many years, Gary Gorniak, for his years of service. I would like to recognize and thank Marvin McMillon, Neighborhood Watch Committee chair, who resigned earlier this year and for other board members, Gwen Parker, Javacia Floyd, and Pam Thornton who will be vacating their positions as board members and committee chair. I thank you for your work and contributions to the Board.
Finally, I would like to thank all of the MFHOA members for the opportunity to serve you and for the confidence you had in electing me as your Board President. It has been a pleasure to serve you this year as well as to work with a great group of volunteers on the Board. While much has been accomplished by the Board, there is still work to be done. I am encouraged by the commitment and dedication of all Board members and feel certain that the Board will continue to make progress toward achieving our goal of preserving the quality of this great community.
Respectfully submitted,
Jackie Johnson, MFHOA Board President
